The Modern is almost ready to spring back into action, a month after a burst water pipe put Danny Meyer's restaurant at the MoMA out of commission. As of a couple weeks ago, the restaurant hoped to have the cleanup done by today, but things have been pushed back just bit further. Now the team sends word that the Bar Room will open tomorrow evening, while the Dining Room won't be ready until Wednesday. Meanwhile, since Danny Meyer is unfazed by ladders and plastic sheeting, he's already back in testing out the menu (white tablecloth and all) with chef Abram Bissell and Sabato Sagaria. The staff has also been kept occupied, in typical Meyer fashion, with lectures and "cross-training" at Gramercy Tavern, Shake Shack, and other Union Square Hospitality restaurants.
