It's been a tough summer for corporate haters in Williamsburg. This week saw the opening of the burg's first Starbucks, and now it looks like another Starbucks might be coming to the neighborhood, this time with booze. Coffee House Holdings, Inc. — which Starbucks has used before to apply for liquor license for non-branded locations like the one in Macy's at Herald Square — is on the Community Board 1 agenda for August. The company is seeking approval for a beer and wine liquor license at 154 N. 7th Street, just a block from the Bedford L stop.
Ultimately, the company needs the sign off from the State Liquor Authority and it can't apply for one until 30 days after it gives notice to the community board. So, even if a boozy Starbucks is coming to Williamsburg, it won't be super soon.
