LOWER EAST SIDE — After much anticipation, Black Seed opened today, and the crowds were out in full force for Noah Bernamoff and Matt Kliegman's wood-fired bagels. The shop sold out of bagels a little before 3 p.m. today, and Bernamoff says they went through over a thousand. The shop will be back in action tomorrow at 7 a.m. [EaterWire]
WILLIAMSBURG — Egg is hosting a To Kill a Mockingbird dinner this Saturday as part of the Food Book Fair. The menu includes dishes like collard greens, salt pork and beans, cracklin' bread, and lane cake. The meal, which includes beer and cocktails, is $100 per person and tickets can be bought online. CARROLL GARDENS — Mission Chinese Food is popping up at Frankies 457 one last time tonight. Danny Bowien notes that there will be a vegetarian option this evening.
