1) Park Slope: Here's Park Slope reports that Die Koelner Bierhalle opened this week. The German beer hall's opening was significantly delayed, but with 70 beers and seating for around 200, it's one of the largest booze spots in town. 2) Clinton Hill: Earlier this summer, Cielo opened in Brooklyn, Tasting Table reports. The menu is mostly Cuban small plates like plantain rolls stuffed with shrimp, papas rellenos and fritas cubanos. Status: Certified open; 474 Myrtle Ave, 347-529-4143.
3) East Village: The Local EV learns that Ducks Eatery, an eclectic, vaguely Southern restaurant by Will Horowitz, is in soft opening mode. Until it opens for real next month, Ducks is open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday. Horowitz is serving up brisket with apricot and fish sauce, goat feet curry soup and yaka mein. 4) Sunset Park: Mexican joint Taqueria La Paz has taken over the former Taqueria Xochimilco space, Serious Eats learns. With a menu that really revolves around Mexican breakfast, Taqueria La Paz also serves up a number of tacos, salads and tortas. Status: Certified open; 4501 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, 718-435-7600.
5) Downtown Brooklyn: A café, bar and diner called Palmers opened recently in the former Avalon commercial space, Brownstoner learns. Open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., the breakfast menu includes pastries, coffee and the like, while the diner menu includes pizza, burgers and quesadillas. 6) Nolita: Old timey tenenant/hotel The Bowery House has opened a restaurant called Bowery Kitchen, per Gothamist. Open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., the menu includes breakfast staples (french toast, egg sandwiches, etc), pizzas and panini. They also pour beer and wine. 7) Williamsburg: A new bar by the team behind 4th Avenue Pub and Washington Commons, The Graham, opened this weekend. According to BlackBook, the food menu consists of "typical?though not fried?bar snacks," with an emphasis on the 16 taps with a rotating beer selection. Status: Certified open; 190 Graham Ave.
8) Williamsburg: The New York Times reports on The Flat, a new bar between South Fifth and Broadway in Brooklyn. Open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., The Flat is an affordable spot (read: not a fancy cocktail bar) from Max Brennan, founder of Lit. Status: Certified Open; 308 Hooper Street, 718-599-5152.
9) East Village: Avenue B bar Blackbird is opening tonight, the bar's reps tell Bowery Boogie. They're celebrating their arrival in the former Lakeside Lounge space with three days of party. Status: Opening tonight; 162 Avenue B.
