Nobu managing partner Richie Notar is branching out. The restaurateur — who famously flipped out on a plane a few years ago — is forming a new group with the co-owner of the Celtics called Notar Hospitality. His first order of business is to open a restaurant in the Lombardy Hotel that will serve "contemporary globalized food" with an emphasis on seafood. Notar tells the Wall Street Journal:
I've been doing Nobu for 19 years and we all know it's fantastic, but I'm getting to the second part of my life, and sometimes I want to be able to do things that don't involve chopsticks and soy sauce.Notar is still involved with Nobu. He's also working on a Harlem restaurant, and a brick and mortar concept from a NYC barbecue truck.
