Could this be the end for Donovan's Pub? The Sunnyside Post notices that the famed Queens bar is up for sale. The asking price is $3.2 million. The current manager of the pub, Jack Donovan, notes that the new owner will have the option to buy the business, or have the site be "delivered vacant."
Owner Joe Donovan put the bar on the market because he's looking to retire. He tells the Times Newsweekly: "Everything’s changing in the area...It’s not the business that it used to be." Nobody's made an offer yet, and the owners think that it will take about a year for the deal to go through. Donovan's has been family owned and operated since 1966. Brooks of Sheffield writes: "It's got a great outside. It's got a great inside, with a sunken dining room and a working fireplace. And it may have the best burger in New York."
