The Nolita location of David Selig-owned Asian fusion restaurant and lunch favorite Rice has closed. Selig fans need not fear—Rice's Dumbo location as well as sister restaurant Enye remain open for business, and his beachside stands Rockaway Taco and Dicosmo's Italian Ice are slated to open for the season on May 10th.
Rice's website has no word on the closure, but the Elizabeth Street storefront will be replaced by the second outpost of all-organic Brooklyn Heights restaurant Siggy's Good Food. According to the owner, Siggy's will feature a health-centric, pesticide- and hormone-free menu with vegetarian and gluten-free options, including salads, sandwiches, and specials like eggplant and tofu lasagna. Siggy's is slated to open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch in late May.
