This week, Pete Wells griped on the Diner's Journal blog that he had terrible service at Roberta's, a lauded and obscenely popular Bushwick restaurant run by a bunch of tatted up hipsters. So on this Friday open thread we want to know: Where have you had unexpectedly incredible service. Not at places like Eleven Madison Park or La Grenouille or Jean Georges or anything owned by a man named Danny Meyer, but at small under the radar spots or raffish outer borough dives or hole in the wall underpopulated neighborhood joints. Be specific, give examples, tell the stories—in the comments and to the tipline—and we'll run everyone's suggestions on Monday.
