Word leaked late last year that the team behind the clubby Meatpacking District restaurant Abe & Arthur's would be bringing the concept to the James Royal Palm Hotel in late 2012, and now reps announce they've switched gears a little. The EMM Group will instead open a version of their other, newer MePa hit Catch, the three-level seafood behemoth helmed by chef Hung Huynh, because owners noticed "a lack of seafood-specific restaurant options in Miami, and a desire expressed by its residents for more social, shareable, city-style dining." John Delucie and Andrew Carmellini already have projects down there, and John McDonald of Lure and B&B is rumored to be looking, so there's been quite an influx of New Yorkers down in South Beach.
Meanwhile, the new project for 199 Bowery is set to open this September, and as reported, it will encompass a bakery and cafe, a dining room serving Asian fusion dishes, and a lower level jazz club.
