Tonight, the team behind Slainte and Dempseys’s will attempt to banish the ghost of bizarro restaurant from the future Kurve by opening Cooper’s Craft and Kitchen, their new restaurant on 2nd Ave. and East 5th St. The owners, who hail from the British Isles, wanted to create a place serving comfort foods paired with an ambitious beer selection. The menu will include such dishes as scotch eggs with bacon vinaigrette, pot ‘o’ mussels with homemade bread, Atlantic cod in a honey batter, a pulled pork sandwich marinated in Sixpoint Brownstone Ale, meatloaf sliders with caramelized onions, and the Signature Cooper Burger. The bar will have twenty-four craft beers on rotation as well as forty specialty and esoteric bottles.
Meanwhile Kurve's spaceship windows have been replaced, and the interior is dark, wooded, and lined with high stools. Cooper’s will be open from 11 AM - 1 AM. Sunday through Wednesday and will close at 2 AM Thursday through Saturday.
