Crain's reports that The Wall Street Burger Shoppe, the three-floor three year-old burger joint and bar that briefly made the Deathwatch list for the sheer audacity of charging $175 for a gimmick burger, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday. The sole owner of the retro burger joint now—Apotheke's Heather Tierney was originally involved—bought out his last partners earlier this year, and his lawyer tells the publication that the restaurant was just not profitable.
According to the filing, the restaurant has $500,000 in liabilities and $50,000 in assets. The phone number has been disconnected and it is listed on Yelp as officially closed.
