New York City is home to a lot of restaurants, more than any rational human being can ever hope to visit. Among that number are hidden gems the majority of New Yorkers just aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's many food luminaries to share with us their under the radar recommendations for Dining Confidential.
This time we hear from chef Kurt Gutenbrunner, the chef and co-owner of many popular Austrian restaurants including Wallsé and Blaue Gans. He speaks of his love for the late night spot Great NY Noodletown.
“Great NY Noodletown is fantastic. It’s quick and easy, especially because my kids can always finds something they like. My favorite item is the BBQ roast duck on rice; it’s something I find myself craving late at night, which is actually not a problem since it doesn’t close until 4am. My kids are partial to the noodle options and like to look at the roasted meats on display at the front. Overall, an ideal spot for a low-key family dinner or late-night bite.”
