Joaquin Baca's The Brooklyn Star, a newish southern-tinged restaurant that was just coming into its own when a fire destroyed it last February, will reopen in its new space over on Lorimer Street in Williamsburg on March 9, the owners tell us today. The space is pretty much ready, the inspectors have come and gone, and they've completed a menu.
In addition to old classics like corn bread with jalapenos, romaine wedge with buttermilk dressing, and country fried steak, they'll be serving tripe chili with fritos, veal sweetbreads with kale and shoestring fries, roasted marrow bones with Texas toast, and serious cuts of steak. See the full menu below, stay tuned for pics, and when she opens in two weeks, send early reviews this way.
