They say it's not a revenge move, and in reality, Danny Meyer probably doesn't feel threatened by the news, but still this is amusing:
Earlier this year, Shake Shack Midtown opened just blocks from Schnipper's Quality Kitchen, a burger and sloppy joe joint in the new New York Times building. Now, Schnipper's is opening a second branch across the park from the original Shake Shack downtown. Andrew Schnipper tells the Times, "...there are long lines at Shake Shack. And we’re indoors. We’re not shooting to capture their overflow, but it could happen." His new restaurant will seat about 125 diners and will encompass 4,800 square feet.
