Strangely enough, it seems that there is nothing that people love more than to wait in a long line just to buy some food. Sometimes, the food justifies the wait (Torrisi for the most part, Momofuku Milk Bar), but the ironic part is that most times, it doesn't. And it's not just tourists who happened to buy a Lonely Planet or Fodor's standing in line either. Plenty of sane-seeming New York City residents will waste an hour or more of their time for the privilege of buying food. Thus, Eater is proud to present a comprehensive map of the most persistent, often least worthwhile waits in New York City.
