New York food world darling Michael White has confirmed our earlier reports that he is opening a Soho restaurant in the space once occupied by troubled bar The Falls on 218 Lafayette. The lease is signed; the deal is done. He hasn't revealed a name just yet, but White tells Eater that it will be a rustic trattoria, and it won't be as "Americanized" as some of the other so called trattorias downtown. It will be casual, no resys, no booths, with a standing room lounge in the front of the space with tables diners can lean against (we're thinking like Momo Milk Bar). He described it as a "risky restaurant." Commence drooling....now.
