3.1 million Cablevision customers in the Tri-State area now have their sweet, sweet Food Network back. Scripps, the owner of the food channel, and the cable provider announced yesterday that they finally came to a fee agreement after a month of deadlock and blackouts. The details of the agreement were not released, but the Food Network was seeking a 200 percent increase over their current 8 cents per customer per month rate.
They are still in negotiations with other big gun provider, Time Warner Cable, but there have been no service interruptions since their contract ran out at the end of December.
