Ladies and gentlemen, after two preview meals at FergusStock, a series of friends and family nights, and a slight delay, Ken Friedman and April Bloomfied's The Breslin opened this morning in the Ace Hotel. Operatives onsite report that the scene is one of controlled chaos and that the space is half full for its first lunch.

Alain Ducasse has already deemed the fries some of the best in the city, but the tipline welcomes assessments of the food and the scene from the civilians in the crowd as well. She's not yet open for dinner, so the impatient among you better plan on a business lunch or breakfast STAT. Expect plenty of coverage to come.
