While 2009 has seen many food trends come and go (and stay)—including Neapolitan pizza, fancy hot dogs, and yes, banh mi—there is one menu item that has recently found itself in NYC's latest boom cycle: fried chicken. Let it first be said that plenty of places across town are serving up equal if not superior birds (try looking in Columbus Circle and Korea Town for starters), but today the focus is on the newcomers, the sudden rash of fried bird meat that is now taking the city by storm.
