Fall Tracking: Mapping the Remaining September Openings

2008_10_hasmaps.jpgSince it can be a headache to keep track of all of the fall openings, both for casual restaurant watchers and the pros, and because the average diner only cares about what's opening in his/her own neck of the woods, here's the ultimate September Openings Map. Some big ones Gansevoort 69, SD26, A Voce Columbus, and Motorino East Village have already managed to open in the first half of the month, but the following spots originally slated for September are still in plywood stages. See what's going into your nabe, what's opening up by the office, etc. Just keep in mind, it's the mags and the papers projecting these places will actual open this month. We'd say half could still be plywooded up through Columbus Day, and some, like Cafe Gitane, have already delayed their opening one month. But one can never be too prepared.
