What's more patriotic than a fake spit of sand and hamburgers on the grill? That same reality brought to life smack dab in the center of New York City's harbor. This Saturday, July 4, in honor of America and all that is American, the delightful chain of urban beach bars called Water Taxi Beach plans to open its third (and, for this summer anyways, final) location on Governors Island. They'll only have a limited selection of food, beverages, and activities, which will be expanded upon for the grand opening on the 11th, but if the forecast is to be believed, it's going to be quite the beach day. WTBGI will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4 and 5 with free ferry service from the Battery Maritime Building. More info here. And God bless America.
