Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Szechuan Gourmet, the midtown Chinese restaurant quietly considered by many to be one of the best in New York. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:

Zero Stars: 12-1
One Star: 4-1
Two Stars: 2-1 √√
Three Stars: 8-1
Four Stars: 900-1

So, sure. The Bruni could ooh and aah and then give the restaurant one star, filing the review mostly just to file it. He could also go catastrophically off the reservation and dole out a trey, because the food is, indeed, pretty excellent here. These days, however, the Bruni is a reasonable guy and this review is along pretty traditional wild card lines. Any reasonable bettor is going with a two-spot this week, looking for the man to pull something of a Spicy & Tasty, only in Manhattan. Deucetrain it is.
