This afternoon we bring you Plywood Mainia, because just a simple Plywood report won't cut it this week.

Plywood of the upcoming satellite for Japanese ramen chain, Ippudo
1) East Village: The opening of the East Village outlet of the Japanese chain Ippudo, a highly anticipated event among ramen lovers, creeps ever closer. From the looks of plywood on 4th ave between 9th and 10th Street in the East Village, the outside woodwork is done but they've yet to finish off the sign and the inside. [PLYWOOD]
2) Midtown: Imbible has the latest on Houdstooth, the new 6,800 square foot bi-level monster to open in Midtown: "Nicholas Cohen, Kevin McKenna and Dave Renehan, the owners of West 37th Street bar Stitch, have a new bar and grill in the works. Cohen tells us that Houndstooth--located at 37th Street and 8th Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by the old Chock Full O' Nuts store--will make its debut between late March and mid-April." 3) West Village: Found right next to the plywood for the new Grand Sichuan, we have this unknown plywood in former Buddha House space (pictured right). [PLYWOOD]
4) Gowanus: Brownstoner has the intel on a new BBQ spot opening up in Gowanus: "A restaurant called Brick Oven Barbeque Pit is going to open in a warehouse on 3rd Avenue and 6th Street within the next month or so...one of the owners told us the Pit is also going to offer brick-oven pizza and serve booze." [PLYWOOD]
5) Midtown: A tipster emails in this bit of plywood news: "Spotted a sign for a new "cigar" bar to open on Second Avenue and 54th St. in the space once occupied by the defunct Soleil restaurant...don't forget to pass out the gas masks for the Connaught coop residents living above the smoky joint who are fuming over the prospect of cigar fumes." [PLYWOOD]
6) Carrol Gardens: Off the Presses noticed that Clover Club, one of the most recent in a string of BK cocktail bar openings, is showing signs of life: "There's been some construction going on on Smith Street for a while now, around the former location of Johnnie's Bootery. I wasn't sure what it was all about until last week when they put up a sign saying Clover Club...I've been hearing about this cocktail joint for some time and it seems it's to be a reality." [PLYWOOD]
7) Park Slope: Looks like Park Slope is finally getting its own trendy yogurt spot in the plywooded space on 7th Ave between Union and Berkeley: "From checking over DOB permits on the place, the business is slated to be called "Yogo Monster," which presumably has no affiliation with Pinkberry. But we're not sure, and contractors at the site have been mum about what they're building." [PLYWOOD]
8) Lower East Side: Regarding our earlier plywood coverage of the 71 Clinton space, we have this update from a commenter: "I thought someone had finally signed a lease on 71 Clinton too, but no—a poster went up recently outside still touting the space, but with I think a different agent and agency than before. I guess the activity inside was just to clean it out some more to show prospective tenants." [PRE-PLYWOOD]
