Above, the front facade of The Hotel on Rivington, which for no good reason that we can even remotely imagine was savagely ripped open earlier this week. The move comes over a year since chef Kurt Guttenbrunner departed the hotel's namesake restaurant, Thor, which never recovered. Investigation inside the hotel reveals that the lounge/restaurant area is now totally off-limits, with revelers directed to the second-floor lounge. We'd ask if anyone happened to know what the plan is here, but the simple fact is that we cannot bring ourselves to care. Godspeed, etc.
