Breaking news from Chowhound this AM. It seems West Village mainstay Inside has shuttered to due to a loss-of-lease situation:

They lost their lease because another restaurant-owner-to-be has purchased the space. To go out with a bang, they hosted a fantastic New Year's Eve dinner party, and absolutely out-did themselves.... from the cocktail hour to dessert. So many of our favorite appetizers and entrees were sent out over the course of four hours. Surprisingly, among the brussels sprouts, short rib and lobster, it was actually a mushroom pasta dish that was my favorite.
