Today, Danny Meyer and the Shake Shack crew opened their second standalone Queens location on Austin Street in Forest Hills (the chain also has outposts at JFK and Citi Field). Just last week the ever growing burger chain opened a Herald Square location, and the crew has a Fulton Center location in the works. The menu at Shake Shack Forest Hills is the same as all other outposts, plus three new concretes: Queens Bee (vanilla custard, marshmallow sauce, Liddabit Sweets honeycomb candy, and strawberry purée); Hill of Beans (vanilla custard, Stumptown coffee beans, salted caramel sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, and chocolate sprinkles); and the Austin Street Treat (chocolate custard, peanut butter sauce, sugar cone cookie, and banana). The company will donate five percent of its sales from that last treat to the Queens Community House.
The new location will serve local beers come from Blue Point, Captain Lawrence, and Ithaca Beer Co., with plans to rotate a few others throughout the year.
