Starting this Wednesday, Minetta Tavern's Black Label Burger — arguably one of the most influential hamburgers of all time — will be available at Keith McNally's two-year-old French charmer, Cherche Midi. Mr. McNally sends word the Black Label is replacing the prime rib burger, which also garnered quite a bit of acclaim during its run at the restaurant. The Black Label Burger will be priced at $26 during brunch and lunch, and $28 during dinner. (For those keeping track at home, these are slightly more relaxed prices than in the Village, where it's $29 for lunch/brunch and $32 at dinner, according to the most recent Minetta menus.) This is New York's *quintessential* fancypants burger, and now, finally, you can enjoy it south of Houston Street. The burger is one of several recent additions the menu at The Cherchemonster.
In other McNally news, the restaurateur is busy prepping the opening of Augustine, his new Financial District project with Cherche Midi's Daniel Parilla and Shane McBride. If everything goes according to plan, the new restaurant will make its debut this summer.
Here's the new Cherche Midi lunch menu, which also includes a Cuban tartine:
