Popular Austin-based movie theater-plus-restaurant chain Alamo Drafthouse will be serving its first screen-side beers in Downtown Brooklyn this summer, the company announced on Tuesday. The theater will feature seven screens with both independent films and blockbusters and a full food and drink menu, including cocktails and local beers. It's part of the massive City Point development at Flatbush and Fulton Avenue, a project that will also feature a food hall, sit-down restaurants, retail, and apartments.
Like local favorite Nitehawk Cinema, servers at Alamo Drafthouse bring food to people during film screenings. The menu at other locations include items like a brussels sprout, smoked bacon, and goat cheese pizza; mini banh mi hot dogs with Sriracha, carrot, cucumber, and cilantro; and hatch green chile pork stew. Alamo Drafthouse has 23 other locations in the country. It will be the chain's first location in New York City, though it previously tried to open in the Upper West Side. Stay tuned as more details emerge.
