Brand new spiffy gold lettering spelling out Sadelle's is hanging over the doors at 463 West Broadway. The Torrisi boys have been hard at work here, getting ready to open their bagel bakery and appetizing shop (place that sells smoked fish and shmear) along with ex-Roberta's baker Melissa Weller. The team is still hiring a bagel baker and a lox slicer with previous experience — a requirement which pretty much leaves only a small applicant pool of ex-Russ & Daughters, Barney Greengrass, Zabar's, and Black Seed employees.
As per usual, the team has been tight lipped about the menu, but co-owner Jeff Zalaznick has been known to call the project "our version of Barney Greengrass." By "our version," we're betting he means over the top shmears, possibly some lox slicing theatrics, and probably some unconventional bagel flavors. This is a Torrisi project after all.
