SUNSET PARK — Industry City Distillery now has a tasting room where the team is serving boozy treats like a Puerto Rican piragua (shaved ice with a choice of coconut, pineapple, or mango liqueur poured over it), and cocktails like the sunset mule (galangal and lime zest with Technical Reserve spirits and the house's spicy ginger beer). To fuel all that drinking there's a pulled pork sandwich, beef empanadas, and plantains that can be served with corn-jalapeño or crusted-tomato salsas. RIDGEWOOD — For those without a stoop to sit on or a backyard to barbecue in, there's now Nowadays, a giant outdoor only bar with beer from Queens Brewery, sangria, burgers, veggie options, a whole lotta picnic tables, reports Grub Street. Keep in mind, the space is entirely outside and is only open Thursday-Sunday. Status: Certified open. 56-06 Cooper Avenue.
TRIBECA — New Korean spot Gunbae (pronounced gun-bay, meaning cheers in Korean) offers K-BBQ upstairs and karaoke downstairs. Diners can either grill their own meat or ask staff to grill for them. There are plans to add a burger to the grilling options as well, says Tribeca Citizen. Status: Certified open. 67 Murray Street, 212-321-2500.
TRIBECA — Hotel Hugo has a new Cuba-inspired rooftop bar: Azul. There are 360 degree views (including a good look at the sun setting over Jersey), chips and guac, Cuban sandwiches, and tacos. Mojitos are made Kelvin Slush Co. slush in flavors like passionfruit. Keep in mind, nothing comes with Havana-level prices. Tacos are two for $16 and that mojito will run you $16. WILLIAMSBURG — The Knitting Factory's very own booze and food spot The Federal Bar debuted late last week. It's both a standalone restaurant, as well as the supply station for hungry/thirsty concert goers. On the menu: beef heart poutine, fried pickles, a salmon "bagel burger," and several local beers. EAST VILLAGE — Park Slope vegan place V-Spot has soft opened its first Manhattan outpost. The team is serving a long list of baked empanadas. Check out the menu over at EV Grieve. Status: Soft open. 16 Saint Mark's Place.
COBBLE HILL — A tiny breakfast and lunch spot called Ana and Sophie's is now serving build-your-own egg sandwiches with toppings like avocado, aioli, bacon, or sausage. There's also grilled cheese, Nutella toast with banana, coffee, and juices, notes Pardon Me for Asking. Status: Certified open. 194 Court Street.
HARLEM — Indian restaurant Clove was in the works for a while and finally debuted on June 11. There's outdoor seating and a lunch buffet for $9.95 reports Harlem + Bespoke. Status: Certified open. 1592 Amsterdam Avenue, 646-918-6644.
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — The Marriott's Brooklyn Bridge location is going through a major (read: $43 million) renovation and just opened its new bar. During the day, there's coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company and sweets from Ovenly. Status: Certified open. 333 Adams Street.
