South Street Seaport's sunny patio on Pier 16 will get some dressed up carnival fare options and booze this July from City Hall Restaurant chef Henry Meer, reports DNAinfo. There's seating for 100, much of it al fresco. The food menu isn't finalized, but will offer Pat LaFrieda burgers, hot dogs, grilled corn with lime, fries, tater tots, and buttermilk onion rings.
This development, along with the transformation of Pier 17 into an outdoor mall, could help bring in some much-needed revenue to the Seaport, which has struggled since Hurricane Sandy wiped out most of its businesses. To help with that, Meer plans to donate some profits from the stand to the South Street Seaport Museum.
