The hit Nordic-inspired pop-up Mrnilssson, which was camping out in the evenings at Long Island City's Sage General Store, closed up shop this week and is on the hunt for a new space. Bartender Nick Duble tells Eater the restaurant was successful, but the owner of the store (and the pop-up) Leslie Nilsson "is simply not interested in running a tasting menu restaurant permanently, so the Mrnilsson team is exploring potential options elsewhere for the future." Whether the new space will involve Leslie, or is a project of chefs Greg Proechel and Michael Kollarik is unclear. A note on the restaurant's website simply says Mrnilsson has "one back to his homeland (he's not crazy about hot weather). We will be closed for dinner until May — we are busy creating a new spring menu."
