This morning Brooklyn hit-makers Dale Talde, David Massoni, and John Bush open Carrino Provisions, their Italian market/restaurant in Jersey City. For their first venture across the Hudson River they've teamed up with Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri of HGTV's Kitchen Cousins, and put together a space that includes a butcher counter and a pasta counter, plus pantry items and prepared foods, as well as a restaurant proper. Think of it as a very tiny Eataly.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, includes a bar, and will serve dishes like kale salad with black garlic and pumpernickel croutons, scallop crudo with pepperoni gremolata, and a range of house made pastas. Meanwhile, the former Top Cheftestapant and his partners are also at work on an outpost of their Park Slope Asian-American restaurant, Talde, right next door. No solid opening date on that yet, but according to a rep it's only a few weeks away.
