Robert Newton's planned restaurant at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden now has a name: Yellow Magnolia Café. Newton is opening the restaurant in partnership with Patina Restaurant Group (of Lincoln, Brasserie, Stella 34, and others) which will take over all the food and beverage operations at the garden on October 1. Yellow Magnolia (which will only serve breakfast and lunch) will reportedly have a "vegetable focus," and even go so far as to source ingredients from the garden itself. Although Newton has been plenty busy closing Seersucker, moving Nightingale 9, and opening his casual Southern spot, Wilma Jean, the cafe is slated to open by October.
