Here's a look around Grand Banks, the hottest oyster bar to set anchor in the Hudson this summer. The bar from former Diner and Marlow & Sons restaurateur Mark Firth and Adrian Gallo of Double Happiness and Happy Ending was supposed to open tonight, but the weather forecast has sadly pushed that back to tomorrow, when the ship will host a 4th of July party. While waiting on sunnier weather, take a good long look at New York's only oyster bar on a historic wooden schooner. Starting Saturday, it will be open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., serving cocktails, many varieties of oyster, and a changing menu of dishes like lobster rolls, and fluke crudo with Asian pear, radish, pancetta and grapes.
The boat will also host exhibits and lectures on maritime culture and more, but it will only be docked throught October, so get there while it's warm.
